Cathy Sevier of Scattered Possessions

Cathy Sevier has been helping people simplify their lives and get organized for over ten years. An Oregon native, Cathy enjoys providing a compassionate and encouraging environment to her organizing clients. Her goal is to help clients work through their toughest organizational challenges to find more time to do the things that they love. Cathy is known for her calm demeanor, her patience and kindness to all.

Prior to founding Scattered Possessions in 2008, Cathy was a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. She managed both reserve education training and human resource offices. Cathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

Professional Memberships and Accolades

Cathy is a proud Golden Circle member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). She has served a total of seven years on the NAPO Oregon Chapter board, in the roles of Chapter Treasurer, Director of Membership and Director at Large. Cathy is committed to ongoing education in the field of organizing and coaching. She recently completed:

  • Coach Approach Training Strength-Based Coaching Course, an intensive, 5-week course to deepen Coaching Essentials skills and methodology to build client awareness, confidence, competence & results. Training included identifying character and functioning strengths and then broaden their applications and impact. Training included live instruction, extensive practice with feedback and a comprehensive assessment.  

  • NAPO’s Brain-Based Conditions Specialist Certificate to develop a foundational knowledge for working with clients experiencing symptoms or having diagnoses of brain based conditions.

  • Coach Approach Coaching Essentials Course, an intensive, 8-week course on basic coaching skills, methodology and ethics. Training includes live instruction, extensive practice with feedback and a comprehensive assessment.  

Cathy also holds three Certificates of Study in Chronic Disorganization from the Institute of Challenging Disorganization (ICD): 

  • Chronic Disorganization

  • Client Administration

  • Basic ADD Issues with the CD Client 

Cathy has been awarded Continuing Education Certificates for topics about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Hoarding, Stress, Burnout, and Anxiety, ADHD, and Mindfulness.

In her spare time, Cathy enjoys bicycling, gardening, water aerobics, yoga, walking and reading, and lives in Vancouver, Washington with her husband.
